ZOE NAVARRO

Director and Principal Lawyer

Accredited Specialist (Criminal Law) – Qld

Zoe was admitted as a Solicitor in the Townsville Supreme Court in May 2011 after completing her university studies at James Cook University, Townsville.

Throughout her studies, she worked for a local reputable criminal law firm as a law clerk and was assisted in the preparation of a number of complex criminal matters during that time.

Since her admission, Zoe has worked exclusively in criminal defence.  She spent 2 years in private firms in Brisbane before returning to Townsville and working for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Legal Service and other private firms in Townsville.  That work has included work in jurisdictions around Townsville, including Mount Isa, Ayr and Palm Island. Zoe still regularly attends Palm Island and represents clients in that circuit court for a variety of matters.

Zoe established Navarro Lawyers in 2018 with a continued focus on criminal defence, domestic violence and traffic law matters.  Zoe is a highly competent lawyer and advocate who has built a strong reputation in the Townsville area as an expert in this area of law.

Townsville’s only Accredited Specialist (Criminal Law) – Qld

In December 2022, Zoe became an Accredited Specialist in Criminal Law (Qld). She is currently the only lawyer in the Townsville region to be recognised as an Accredited Specialist in Criminal Law.

Accredited Specialists are lawyers who have successfully completed an advanced, peer-reviewed assessment program specific to their area of expertise, demonstrating their high level of knowledge and skills in that area. Only lawyers, not law practices, can be Accredited Specialists.

Queensland Law Society’s Specialist Accreditation program provides the general public with a reliable way to identify lawyers who have a high level of expertise in a particular area. The Specialist Accreditation qualification and accompanying logo and post-nominal are a nationally recognised mark of excellence.

When you have a legal problem that becomes more than routine, you may need the services of an expert. Just as medical problems may be referred to a specialist, tough legal issues should be looked after by a QLS Accredited Specialist in the relevant area of law. In addition to their qualifications and training as a lawyer, they maintain a high level of professional development each year. You can trust that an Accredited Specialist has a minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification experience and ongoing substantial involvement in their specialist area of law. They are recognised as leaders in the profession and are experienced in delivering exceptional client service.
